What PUDdata does
PUDdata is an independent Washington utility information project. We turn published schedules into understandable bill examples and connect readers with official utility services. Utilities do not operate this site or endorse its estimates. Coverage focuses on public utility districts; it is not a complete directory of every Washington electricity supplier.
Who is responsible for the content?
PUDdata publishes the guides and maintains the calculation models. Contact contact@puddata.com about an article, source, or correction. We do not claim professional engineering, financial-advice, or utility regulatory credentials. Articles use the PUDdata byline to identify the publisher responsible for them.
Our editorial method
We prefer official utility publications for tariffs and government or program-administrator sources for guidance. We label our own arithmetic, distinguish a hypothetical example from measured household data, and record the date a source was checked separately from the date a page was published. An unknown effective date stays unknown.
Some drafting and development are assisted by AI. A generated explanation is not evidence: numerical examples must be checked against their stated inputs, and outside factual claims need identifiable sources. We do not invent customer experiences, interviews, testimonials, savings measurements, or reviewer credentials.
What can change?
Tariffs, assistance programs, and links can change after a review. The public review log names the records checked in each update. Our static rate reports are dated snapshots; the calculator refuses models that exceed its freshness limit. That limit is a safeguard, not proof that a source remains current.
Corrections
Use the correction form or email with the page URL, the disputed figure, and an official source when available. Do not send account numbers, full bills, or identity documents. We assess the source, correct the affected calculation or text, and describe material data changes in the review log. We do not promise a response deadline.
How the site is supported
Consumer information is free and does not require an account. We offer scoped research to organizations and have installed Google AdSense code; ad serving depends on Google’s approval and configuration. Some relevant equipment guides contain clearly labeled Amazon paid links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Advertising, affiliate revenue, and paid research do not determine utility calculations or source selection. Product links lead to search results with buying criteria, not a claimed hands-on product review. We explain free alternatives and when a purchase may not pay back. Read our affiliate disclosure and equipment-selection guide.
